AIN’T THEM BODIES SAINTS

Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara star in this David Lowery film set in 1970s Texas about a Bonnie and Clyde-esque outlaw couple (Bob Muldoon and Ruth Guthrie) who are finally caught by the authorities. Bob gives himself up so that Ruth, who is pregnant, does not have to do time. He breaks out of prison years later to reunite with his family, only to find that things have changed for everyone involved. From the opening shot of this trailer, one can definitely sense a Terence Malick vibe. Early buzz from Sundance suggests this is one film to watch. Ain’t Them Bodies Saints also stars the criminally underrated Ben Foster and Dexter’s Keith Carradine, and hits US theaters in August 2013.

when i was little and my parents were driving id pretend there was a man/being/thing running alongside the car who had to follow certain rules like “he can only travel by jumping from streetlight to streetlight” or “he can only walk on fences”
i was so surprised to find out that other people did similar things

i wonder what the underlying psychology behind it is
like its a really specific thing to do but almost everyone did it without telling other kids about it because we all thought it was probably weird or unimportant

The Real Abandoned Overlook Hotel

Unlike the fictional Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, this hotel is really named the Overlook. The abandoned hotel is located in the small, wine growing town of Bernkastel-Kues in Germany. Other than it has been unoccupied for about 13 years, there is no information as to why the hotel was closed. All of the furniture remains and it looks as if everyone there simply left. There are rumors that the hotel is haunted. According to urban explorers who frequent the spooky site, cameras malfunction, sounds can be heard throughout the premises and items seem to move around the hotel by themselves.
